Relief is possible with Burnout Therapy in Bolingbrook, IL

If you wake up already wondering how you’re going to make it through the day, it’s not because you’re failing—it’s because you’ve been carrying far more than anyone was meant to hold on their own.
Motherhood isn’t just what people see. It’s the constant mental load, the emotional weight, and the quiet pressure to be a “good mom” no matter how depleted you feel.
In therapy, we start by challenging that expectation—the one that says you have to hold it all together to be enough.
Together, we slow things down, make sense of what you’ve been carrying, and untangle the patterns that keep you stuck in overwhelm and self-doubt.
This isn’t about pushing through or doing more. It’s about feeling more supported, more grounded, and finally comfortable with the mom you are—without chasing perfect.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some answers to common questions you may have about working together. If you have more, I'm happy to help!
Why do I feel so angry and irritable? When you’re constantly needed, touched out, mentally juggling everything, and not getting time to recharge, your nervous system can become overwhelmed. That overwhelm often shows up as irritability, frustration, or anger. There’s also a lot of pressure to live up to the idea of being a “good mom”—patient, calm, and always in control. When your real experience doesn’t match that expectation, it can create guilt and shame on top of everything else. The truth is, many women feel this way but don’t talk about it. In our work together, we challenge those unrealistic expectations and create space for your full experience—so you can feel more supported, regulated, and less alone in what you’re going through.
I don’t feel like myself after having kids—why? Many women feel this way after becoming mothers. Motherhood brings a huge shift in identity, priorities, and daily life, and it’s easy to lose connection with the parts of yourself that existed before. You may feel like everything revolves around your kids, leaving little time or energy for your own needs, interests, or sense of self. Over time, this can lead to feeling disconnected, lost, or not fully like “you.” In therapy, we challenge those “good mom” expectations and help you reconnect with who you are—so you can feel more grounded, whole, and like yourself again.
What are the benefits of virtual therapy? Virtual therapy makes getting support easier and more realistic for your life. It’s convenient—no commuting or arranging childcare. You can attend sessions from home or any private space. It’s also flexible, making it easier to fit therapy into your schedule, even during busy seasons. Many women feel more comfortable opening up in their own environment, which can help sessions feel more natural and less stressful. Virtual therapy also helps with consistency. When it’s easier to attend, you’re more likely to stick with it and see progress. It allows you to get the support you need in a way that actually works for you.
Do you accept insurance? In order to maintain quality, personalized care, we offer a limited number of openings for clients using United Health Care, Aetna and Cigna. Why would I choose private pay therapy? You’re not limited to a set number of sessions, so we can move at a pace that truly supports you—without the risk of insurance suddenly ending coverage or interrupting your care. Working outside of insurance also allows for a more personalized and thoughtful approach, where your needs—not restrictions—guide the process. Your privacy is better protected, since there’s no need to share a diagnosis or detailed session information with insurance companies. It also removes the stress of unexpected billing issues that can sometimes disrupt progress. Overall, our work together stays focused on what’s most helpful for you, rather than what’s dictated by insurance guideline
What is your availability like? I offer late afternoon and evening appointments Monday through Thursday, including late-night options to better fit your schedule after the day winds down. I also have some flexibility on weekends, depending on availability. At this time, daytime appointments are limited, but additional daytime availability will be opening up after Memorial Day weekend.
