Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some answers to common questions you may have about working together. If you have more, I'm happy to help!
How do you help women improve their marriage? I support women in strengthening their marriage through individual therapy—not couples counseling. While I don’t provide marriage or couples therapy, I focus on helping you identify your needs, express your wants and establish boundaries which can reawaken connection, respect and the feeling of being truly desired like you once felt.
Why choose therapy if my partner is not open to marriage counseling? When your husband isn’t open to marriage counseling, individual therapy can still be a powerful and transformative step. Individual women's therapy gives you a space to understand what you are feeling, needing, and wanting—without pressure or someone else’s agenda in the room. It allows you to uncover your hidden desires and learn how to communicate those needs to your spouse in a way that will be received with care and value. While you can’t force a partner into growth, you can change how you show up in your life and relationships. From a women’s empowerment perspective, this work is not about “fixing the marriage alone,” but about strengthening you. As you build confidence focusing on YOU again, your relationship naturally begins to shift—because one person changing their patterns changes the dynamic between you. Even if your spouse never attends therapy, your growth still matters.
What are the benefits of virtual therapy? Virtual therapy makes getting support easier and more realistic for your life. It’s convenient—no commuting or arranging childcare. You can attend sessions from home or any private space. It’s also flexible, making it easier to fit therapy into your schedule, even during busy seasons. Many women feel more comfortable opening up in their own environment, which can help sessions feel more natural and less stressful. Virtual therapy also helps with consistency. When it’s easier to attend, you’re more likely to stick with it and see progress. It allows you to get the support you need in a way that actually works for you.
Do you accept insurance? In order to maintain quality, personalized care, we offer a limited number of openings for clients using United Health Care, Aetna and Cigna. Why would I choose private pay therapy? You’re not limited to a set number of sessions, so we can move at a pace that truly supports you—without the risk of insurance suddenly ending coverage or interrupting your care. Working outside of insurance also allows for a more personalized and thoughtful approach, where your needs—not restrictions—guide the process. Your privacy is better protected, since there’s no need to share a diagnosis or detailed session information with insurance companies. It also removes the stress of unexpected billing issues that can sometimes disrupt progress. Overall, our work together stays focused on what’s most helpful for you, rather than what’s dictated by insurance guideline
What is your availability like? I offer late afternoon and evening appointments Monday through Thursday, including late-night options to better fit your schedule after the day winds down. I also have some flexibility on weekends, depending on availability. At this time, daytime appointments are limited, but additional daytime availability will be opening up after Memorial Day weekend.
