Step Out of Burnout.
Feel Like Yourself Again

Virtual Therapy for Women ready to

put down the weight they've been carrying

You Deserve to Feel Like You Again

 Women's Therapy in Bolingbrook, IL
may be right for you if…

You’re carrying most of the weight at home—handling bedtime, keeping track of schedules, managing the house—often without being asked or acknowledged. The little things add up: doing it all while your partner relaxes, asking for help (again), or deciding it’s just easier to do it yourself. Over time, this mental and emotional load can lead to burnout, especially when unresolved trauma or grief quietly resurfaces in the day-to-day demands of motherhood.

Together, we’ll help you communicate your needs, establish healthy boundaries, and rediscover who you are beyond "mom" so you can move through your days with more patience, clarity and joy.

If this sounds like your
day-to-day life, you're not alone:

You wake up with anxiety already creeping in, your mind jumping straight to the to-do list—before your feet even hit the floor. The mental load feels constant, leaving you emotionally drained and moving closer to burnout.

You snap at your kids over small things and immediately feel guilty, wishing you could just stay calm like the "good mom" you always thought you'd be.

You feel resentful toward your partner, carrying most of the household and parenting load, while past hurts—broken promises or unmet expectations still linger and add to your emotional overwhelm.

The version of you that had hobbies, passions, and joy outside of motherhood feels distant or forgotten.

You feel the weight of grief—loss of what life was, milestones that won’t be the same, or a sense of emptiness that doesn’t go away—while still needing to show up for your children.

Carly Murillo, LCSW, CCTP

Hi, I’m Carly, and I’m so glad you’re here! I am a therapist helping women navigate motherhood burnout, marital strain, resurfacing trauma in parenting, and grief so they can reconnect with themselves, rediscover their passions, and show up for their loved ones with more patience, clarity, and joy.

As a working mom of two, I understand firsthand the roller coaster of emotions and exhaustion that come with this stage of life. I love empowering overwhelmed moms to become the best version of themselves—enhancing their well-being and the balance in their families. This is a space where you don’t have to be strong, your needs matter, and healing can begin. Together, we’ll work toward reclaiming your identity, finding calm, and creating a life where joy, gratitude, and presence coexist with the realities of motherhood.

How We Help Women

in Bolingbrook, IL

Are you tired of just surviving and want to feel like yourself again? Emotional burnout, marriage problems and unresolved trauma may be weighing on you. In therapy, we’ll slow down, make sense of what you’re carrying, and gently begin reconnecting with yourself.

Challenge the “Good Mom” Trap
You’re used to overfunctioning—putting everyone else first, feeling like nothing you do is enough. Together, we challenge the “good mom” narrative that keeps you constantly pushing, overwhelmed and disconnected from yourself. You’ll start to release unrealistic expectations and give yourself permission to be human.

Process Resurfacing Trauma
Old wounds often show up in parenting—snapping at your kids, shutting down, or feeling emotionally depleted. We explore the experiences that are still shaping your reactions so you can respond from calm and clarity rather than frustration and overwhelm.

Untangle Resentment in Marriage

Parenthood can shift your relationship in ways that leave resentment building quietly over the yeras. We work through those feelings without judgement or shame, helping you learn to communicate your desires, reconnect with your partner, and find balance in your marriage.

FAQ

Therapy for Women in Bolingbrook, IL
Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to common questions you may have about working together. If you have more, I'm happy to help!

How do I know if I need therapy? If you’re feeling constantly overwhelmed, easily triggered, stuck in patterns you don’t understand, or like you’ve lost a sense of who you are, therapy can help. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start.

What are the benefits of virtual therapy? Virtual therapy makes getting support easier and more realistic for your life. It’s convenient—no commuting or arranging childcare. You can attend sessions from home or any private space. It’s also flexible, making it easier to fit therapy into your schedule, even during busy seasons. Many women feel more comfortable opening up in their own environment, which can help sessions feel more natural and less stressful. Virtual therapy also helps with consistency. When it’s easier to attend, you’re more likely to stick with it and see progress. It allows you to get the support you need in a way that actually works for you.

Do you accept insurance? In order to maintain quality, personalized care, we offer a limited number of openings for clients using United Health Care, Aetna and Cigna. Why would I choose private pay therapy? You’re not limited to a set number of sessions, so we can move at a pace that truly supports you—without the risk of insurance suddenly ending coverage or interrupting your care. Working outside of insurance also allows for a more personalized and thoughtful approach, where your needs—not restrictions—guide the process. Your privacy is better protected, since there’s no need to share a diagnosis or detailed session information with insurance companies. It also removes the stress of unexpected billing issues that can sometimes disrupt progress. Overall, our work together stays focused on what’s most helpful for you, rather than what’s dictated by insurance guideline

What is your availability like? I offer late afternoon and evening appointments Monday through Thursday, including late-night options to better fit your schedule after the day winds down. I also have some flexibility on weekends, depending on availability. At this time, daytime appointments are limited, but additional daytime availability will be opening up after Memorial Day weekend.

How long are therapy sessions? Therapy sessions are 50 minutes and are typically held once per week. Weekly therapy is considered the most effective approach for building momentum, creating meaningful change, and helping you feel supported consistently.
